Catia & Juan are lovely hosts, and the place is amazing! We were greeted with local wine, delicious home-made cake and local fruits. There is a direct view on the coast of Ponta do sol and on the ocean, allowing us to wake up and go to bed with an amazing sea view, in the middle of banana trees. Catia and her family live one floor down, and they give access to the whole garden, where you can find banana trees, animals, chickens, birds, a dog and Night, their very sociable cat. The garden also offers fresh vegetable (tomatoes, lettuces) and the chicken lay fresh eggs every morning. An amazing place that we would rent again!

Casa del Mar was overwhelmingly nice and the perfect place to stay in Madeira. We highly recommend it. Everything is exactly as shown in the pictures and Cátia & Juan are very carrying and friendly hosts. Thank you very much for this unforgettable time.  

We loved staying here. The house is lovely, amazing views, great garden with outdoor tables and sunbeds. It has everything you need. Catia and Juan are incredibily kind and generous and amazing hosts from day one. We couldn’t recommend it more! Thank you so much for your kindness!  

The garden apartment Juan and Cátia are the friendliest and most generous of hosts. They go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The property sits on a steep slope – like almost every property in Madeira – with a stunning view of the Atlantic Ocean and the village of Ponta do Sol below. The house is very comfortable and quiet. It is well equipped for cooking. It has a Jacuzzi on the terrace. We spent hours reading on the terrace overlooking the ocean. Restaurants and a small supermarket are within walking distance. If you want to explore the island you need a car. We had decided not to rent a car and made many walks in the surroundings of Ponta do Sol. We had one of the most relaxed holidays we had in a long time. We would not hesitate to stay with Juan and Cátia again.  

Casa del Mar is fabulous! As seen in the published photos. Even bigger. We had a great time. It is equipped with everything you need. The game room-gym and theater are luxurious! Juan and Catia are charming and have been attentive at all times to our comfort. We recommend both Casa del Mar and Juan and Catia 100%  

Sea view cottage Excellent location in a beautiful city. Parking on site was a real plus. Whirlpool was excellent extra and very relaxing. House was very spacious for 2, would be just as good for party out of 4. Very comfortable bed with a good firm mattress. Very pleasant to sit in the garden and wonderful to be able to eat some of the products grown there. Host did everything possible to make our stay pleasant, especially since my wife suffered a broken kneecap on the first day and so many “special needs”  

Sea view cottage Everything was perfect! The house is large, well equipped and very clean, and hosts are very nice, friendly and helpful. We had a great stay there, enjoyed great views and everything this house offers. Cátia and Juan maintain the house and the garden (with their own vegetables!) tastefully furnished and surprised us with whirlpool! If we came back to Madeira, we would definitely stay there again and would come back to both couples and families!  

The garden apartment The location, the view, the house, the garden, the wonderful hosts, Cátia and Juan, everything. This is a really unique place, even on Madeira. The house is comfortable, clean, well-equipped. The garden is just beyond words with all the banana and mango trees, the self-service vegetables and fruits, and with the most wonderful view. The location is perfect to discover Madeira, don’t be afraid of the steep streets and stairs, which lead to the house. Cátia and Juan are not just renting their property, they really do make sure, that you feel at home every second of your stay. We don’t want to spoil their acts of kindness, but believe us, they will spoil you.  

The garden apartment Nice view of the sea, small gifts of welcome, easy access to the highway (the via rapida) it was very clean, fully equipped kitchen, nice garden. Catia and Juan were very welcoming hosts. They asked us to dine with them and it was a friendly atmosphere, Juan is a wonderful chef he prepared a tasty local dish. Thank you for everything!
