Catia & Juan are lovely hosts, and the place is amazing! We were greeted with local wine, delicious home-made cake and local fruits. There is a direct view on the coast of Ponta do sol and on the ocean, allowing us to wake up and go to bed with an amazing sea view, in the middle of banana trees. Catia and her family live one floor down, and they give access to the whole garden, where you can find banana trees, animals, chickens, birds, a dog and Night, their very sociable cat. The garden also offers fresh vegetable (tomatoes, lettuces) and the chicken lay fresh eggs every morning. An amazing place that we would rent again!

We loved staying here. The house is lovely, amazing views, great garden with outdoor tables and sunbeds. It has everything you need. Catia and Juan are incredibily kind and generous and amazing hosts from day one. We couldn’t recommend it more! Thank you so much for your kindness!

The garden apartment

Juan and Cátia are the friendliest and most generous of hosts. They go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The property sits on a steep slope – like almost every property in Madeira – with a stunning view of the Atlantic Ocean and the village of Ponta do Sol below. The house is very comfortable and quiet. It is well equipped for cooking. It has a Jacuzzi on the terrace. We spent hours reading on the terrace overlooking the ocean. Restaurants and a small supermarket are within walking distance. If you want to explore the island you need a car. We had decided not to rent a car and made many walks in the surroundings of Ponta do Sol. We had one of the most relaxed holidays we had in a long time. We would not hesitate to stay with Juan and Cátia again.
